Software audits target supply chain upgrades
Enhancement and efficiencies in supply chains are increasingly triggering additional license fees from the major software vendors. This is partly driven by complexity of user metrics but also by the vendor’s own license agreements – often opaque and ambiguous with key issues being shored up by white papers, guidance, policies and website materials.
Supply chain enhancements whether using robotics, AI or helpful software interfaces (APIs) will always have licensing implications and these can be very adverse. Businesses need to look not only into the costs advantages of enhancements but also accommodate licensing impacts.
